Following the Completion of £1.25M Renovation Project
June 2020, Quinta do Lago is proud to announce the completion of a £1.25 million renovation to Casa do Lago Restaurant situated lakeside, in the heart of the Algarve resort. The newly transformed seafood restaurant now exhibits a refreshed and sophisticated nautical feel, emulating the gorgeous blue water which can be admired from table view. As part of the renovation, a completely new menu is also on offer appealing to families and large groups, friends or golfers looking for a quick bite or wedding parties.

New Design
Elegantly designed by local company, Essencia Architects, Casa do Lago’s new modern feel preserves the original restaurant’s spirit whilst also generating a relaxed, simple and elegant atmosphere. Boasting 1,300 square metres in total with 600 square metres of internal space and 700 square metres of outdoor terraces, the seafood restaurant can welcome large numbers of guests for both lunch and dinner. The existing natural feel remains along with existing palm trees which have now been joined by additional exotic plants and foliage to divide areas and frame the terraces.
The main entrance has been enhanced with a larger doorway and wooden decking which runs throughout the whole venue. This evokes a welcoming feel whilst playing on the nautical theme that has always characterised Casa do Lago. The internal bar has also been relocated towards the entrance to invite guests to sit and relax upon arrival, whilst also enhancing a natural flow between the hallway and bar – which provides stunning lake views and a gentle lighting.
The smaller dining room now features long mirrors on the ceiling to create an additional sense of space, which has also been filled with simple and classy artefacts and pieces of furniture. The main dining room boasts new wooden panelling to create a cleaner feel and plays hosts to two large fish tanks and seafood display units. Hand-weaved palm fish, specially woven by local craftswoman, hang from the ceiling evoking a calm, relaxing effect often created by the sea.
In order to expand on the outside areas, the swimming pool was removed from the terrace and has been replaced with two smaller, cascading water features which reflect the Algarvian sun. The outside bar features a pergola covering the seating area, ideal for light meals and drinks, and a new garden extension in the background.
New Menus
Although Casa do Lago will remain the quintessentially seafood and fish destination it is renowned for, the renovation also welcomes a few enhancements to the menu. These include a brand new ‘specials of the day’ option and new light snacks will now be available at the exterior bar. The classic menu will also be complimented by an alternative new sharing menu comprised of ‘Petiscos’, high end tapas and traditional Portuguese cuisine. Those looking to celebrate can also enjoy oysters and champagne which will be complimented by live jazz music to ease you into the early evening as the warmth of the sun softens during the latter part of the day.

A renowned favourite for wedding and event hire, Casa do Lago has now been upgraded and polished to ensure it is the perfect venue to celebrate your special day with loved ones. The restaurant’s outdoor area will now become a dedicated space for weddings, receptions, and festivities. With the white sandy beach just outside, this idyllic spot is perfect for larger groups looking for an elegant destination that provides both luxury and ease.
