Turning a Family Passion into a Family Business…with a little help from Mother Nature

Neve, my daughter, and I are Oxfordshire Beekeepers making 100% natural skincare with a little help from our bees. Running a small, family business in Rural West Oxfordshire is a long way from my previous ‘corporate life’ but I’m so glad I made the change and have been able to turn a passion and hobby into such a lovely lifestyle for us all.

So Tell a little bit about yourself…
I grew up in the middle of nowhere on a farm in deepest Somerset and was a bit of a tomboy who lived in wellies and jeans and spent my days making dens in haybarns and damming streams.
I’m still unsure how but I went from this to doing a chemistry degree in the heart of Manchester, getting a job in pharmaceutical marketing and wearing silly suits and high heels and flying all over the world convincing people to use pharmaceutical preparations and cosmetics they really didn’t need. It was about 8 years ago, whilst running a workshop for a frozen food company in Brazil who wanted to convince Brazilian mothers to use frozen chips rather than fresh potatoes, I thought… hand on a minute, this is not what I want to be doing…
